The Mortimer B. Zuckerman Mind, Brain and Behavior Virology Core

The Zuckerman Institute Virology Core (ZIVC) is a full-service viral vector production organization that will provide custom and catalog viral stocks for attenuated adeno virus (AAV), lenti, Herpes and retro viruses as well as exclusive distribution of the cutting N2CΔG Rabies virus collection to serve all Columbia neuroscience researchers and external academic invesigators. The ZIVC will provide internal pricing structures for Columbia University investigators that will significantly decrease costs currently incurred from external viral vector cores. In addition, on-site same day pick up will be available for in-stock catalog items. The staff will provide expert consultation services for advanced study design, safe use of viral vector technologies and viral construction services for multiple viral vector types. The main objective of the ZIVC is to provide investigators access to state-of-the-art vector technology for preclinical studies and other basic research applications.
