Description
Porteño is an Argentinean restaurant that opened in West Chelsea in December 2011, just one block from the Highline at West 27th Street. The word Porteño refers to a person who is from or lives in a port city -- In Argentina, you are a Porteño if you are from Buenos Aires.
Porteño introduces innovative Argentinean cuisine that brings a hint of Buenos Aires to New York City, fusing old-world recipes with new-world preparations. In opening Porteño, owners Jorge Mendoza and Jorge Albarracin seek to create a unique place for our guests to enjoy good food and good company and to satisfy those who crave the vibe of Buenos Aires society.
