Located in Manhattan’s Flatiron neighborhood, Freehand New York is housed in the former George Washington Hotel - which was once home to many storied writers, musicians and creatives.
The hotel's restaurant & lobby bar is led by acclaimed restaurateur Gabriel Stulman's Happy Cooking Hospitality, known for their family of West Village restaurants including Joseph Leonard, Jeffrey’s Grocery, Fedora, Perla café and Bar Sardine.
For guests on the go, Matt Kliegman, Carlos Quirarte & Melia Marden will open an outpost of their popular grab & go café, Smile to Go this Spring.
The world renowned cocktail bar Broken Shaker will call the rooftop home with some of the best views in town and chillest vibes, opening this Spring.
Freehand New York will also launch The Freehand Fellowship in partnership with Live Arts Bard, Bard College’s artist residency and commissioning program, and the Bard MFA program, where selected artists will have the opportunity to live, work and exhibit at the hotel.
