Description
The Hewitt School was founded in 1920 just three months after women earned the right to vote in this country. We are committed to empowering the next generation of women leaders, one at a time—from the inside out.
Hewitt is a girls' school by design. Our faculty and staff have an unwavering commitment to our mission to empower girls and young women. Our teachers draw from the latest research on how girls learn and thrive and put it to work in the classroom.
Hewitt keeps the learning environment small. With a student to faculty ratio of 7:1, Hewitt nourishes a learning experience full of human interaction, with a culture of teaching and learning that is deeply collaborative and entrepreneurial.
Hewitt is a place where the intrinsic joy of learning is not sacrificed for the sake of achievement. Our girls and young women are impressive beyond words and achieve truly great things—from national academic awards to acceptance at some of the world's most prestigious colleges and universities. In a world where high-achieving girls and young women are asked to be effortlessly perfect, Hewitt girls maintain healthy, happy and balanced lives. They have the courage to take risks and bounce back from failures.
